Mitte, Charlottenburg, Kreuzberg, Prenzlauer Berg — each district carries its own mood, and the routes between them belong to the city as much as its squares. The Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag and Pariser Platz mark the political centre. A short walk away lie the Museumsinsel with its five houses — the Pergamonmuseum, Neues Museum, Bode-Museum, Alte Nationalgalerie and Altes Museum — and the Staatsoper Unter den Linden. Around the Tiergarten follow the Kulturforum, the Berliner Philharmonie and Potsdamer Platz. Charlottenburg holds the palace of the same name, the Deutsche Oper and, with the Schaubühne, one of the city's most important drama stages. Outside the centre, Potsdam with Sanssouci Palace and its park lies barely half an hour to the south-west. The Wannsee with the Pfaueninsel and Glienicke Palace adjoin it. This configuration — twelve individual seats, four conference tables, 230 volts, a fully equipped onboard galley with refrigerator — exists in this form only once in Germany. A city tour brings together hotel, programme and appointments over several days.
