St Thomas Church, with the grave of Johann Sebastian Bach, and the adjacent Bach Museum form the city's musical foundation. The Gewandhaus, with the Gewandhaus Orchestra, and the Leipzig Opera stand on Augustusplatz. The Nikolaikirche, with the peace prayers of 1989, marks a historic site of the Peaceful Revolution. The Mädlerpassage with Auerbachs Keller, the Museum of Fine Arts in the city centre and the Grassi Museum, with three collections under one roof, complete the inner-city axes. The Spinnerei in Plagwitz is today a centre of the New Leipzig School. Naumburg with its cathedral — a UNESCO World Heritage Site — lies barely an hour to the south-west. The Dessau-Wörlitz Garden Realm to the north-west, Halle with the Handel House to the west. The Monument to the Battle of the Nations on the southern edge of the city commemorates the battle of 1813. This configuration — twelve individual seats, four conference tables, 230 volts, a fully equipped onboard galley with refrigerator — exists in this form only once in Germany. A city tour brings together hotel, programme and appointments over several days.
